OLD WORLD CHARM - SIMPLISTIC LUXURY COMFORT

Shepherds Story has been restored from the rubble of sandstone left from the original cottage, retaining the old where possible. Lime plaster walls and exposed timber beams with natural organic bedding, linen and finishings provide a warm, luxurious natural feel.

Simplicity with just enough of what is needed and an emphasis on slowing down and savouring the moment are gently encouraged with thoughtful inclusions.

Tasmania is home to many beautiful, charming, historic towns but few compare with Ross. Warm local sandstone buildings, cobbled paths and grand old elm trees transport you back to the 19th century. Reminiscent of colonial townships of the Cotswolds or Oxfordshire in the UK. Ross holds a timelessness that is beautifully preserved and is arguably the finest 19th-century village in Australia.

Located a 2min walk from the main heritage street and surrounded by farmland and green pastures Shepherd's Story sits beautifully within the landscape.

Designed with purpose and intentionally pared-back, offering its guests just enough of what is needed, gently nudging its guest to slow down and savour these special moments.

The restored 1830s cottage takes the former foundation (bare earth) with over two-thirds of the original structure reclaimed from the site. Partly off-grid with power coming complelety from solar panels on the north facing roof.

Natural materials and a soft colour palette create a luxurious old-world experience that is unpretentious in luxury and timeless in design.
